I was searching for a magnification solution to satisfy an intermediate range rifle. I have not had any experience with magnifiers up to this point. I didnt expect to get favorable results with a magnifier vs a ACOG. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. I can go from close to long rang engagment at the flip of a mount. As always another top shelf product.

The simple addition of the magnifier allows your rifle to become a tool to spot and identify potential targets in better detail while being ready to engage said targets. The G33 is an improved version of previous Eotech magnifiers and offers a lot of interesting and nice features in a smaller package.

This gives shooter another level of versatility when using a non-magnified Eotech optic. What I mean by that is the average Eotech optic is not good for anything outside of shooting. This may have some scratching your heads, what else is an optic used for?

In combat, an optic is used to not only get on target but to find your target. A 1x optic like the Eotech does not provide any ability to search and assess for a target.

A magnifier extends your range in a combat situation effectively out to at least three hundred yards, and at three hundred yards it is possible to hit a man sized target. This box is basically a waterproof, shockproof, Pelican box with custom foam cutouts to fit the items included. In the box, you, of course, get the magnifier, the mount, and a spacer, as well as an optics cloth and the instruction manual.

Installing the mount and spacer is very easy, just two screws. I do suggest some Loctite on each screw, I suggest that with everything with screws that have to do with guns. The recoil of your weapon, however minimal it may be, will loosen screws over time. The spacers only need to be used with Eotech models that have side buttons or quick detach levers and is not necessary for models without these two features.

You can swap which side the magnifier flips too if desired. Check G33 Magnifier Product Details! The magnifier and mounts seem to be very well made and feels sturdy in the hand.

The rear of the magnifier features an adjustable diopter that is stiff to turn. This simply allows the magnifier to customize the focus for their vision. I knew going into this I would have to rezero the optic , or at the very least confirm my zero. The magnifier has vertical and horizontal adjustments. This does not affect your zero but allows you to adjust the reticle back into the center of the magnifier. It makes things a bit easier to use. To push the magnifier out of the way all you need to do is apply some pressure the side of the optic and it will swing out of the way.

Magnifier Test Run To compare how well the optic works with a magnifier and without a magnifier we played a little game. We had three stages, the first was a three limb dueling tree placed at yards away. The plates were Inches. The next was six USPA targets at 50 yards, each with a playing card in the center, the playing card was either a Heart or Club.

Heart cards were shoot targets, clubs were no shoots. The next was ten clay pigeons on a berm at 15 yards. In fact, once I found the sweet spot with the trigger, and recoil I could spin the dueling tree with boring regularity. Without the magnifier, I had to take a lot more time to get the reticle on target. Move the reticle into the chest, spot card, and then shoot or move on. Before we started with the nonmagnified optic we did move the cards around to switch it up.

At fifty yards I could typically spot the red or black on the card, so I could still swiftly move from target to target. Identification was faster with the magnifier, but target transitions were easier without it.

The last stage at 15 yards was a completely different ball game. At 15 yards the magnifier is somewhat useless. With both eyes opened the target was way too big. Without the magnifier, of course, we could transition much faster, and the targets were much easier to engage, something we predicted.

The ability to instantly swap gave some surprising results and ultimately gave us the fastest run. Zoomed in The G33 is an excellent addition to a rifle using an Eotech optic. The magnifier is the same high quality you expect from an optic designed by Eotech.
